The technical inspiration was taken from the ancient Aztec or Egyptian temples, where mirrors, specially positioned, may have been able to reflect sunlight from the outside of the pyramid. The mirror plate was able to bounce the light several times and lead it where needed. The formal idea was based on the myth of Perseus and Medusa – his mirrored shield allowed him to see a reflection of Medusa’s face and to avoid being turned into stone.
A concept for a lamp, the main feature of which is that it gives a smooth, reflected light. Its shape is minimal and elegant, resembling a composition of two geometric pieces: one that emits light and the other captures it, reflecting it with the exceptional mesh-on-mirror finish.
As it comes in three sizes, they can be accumulated to create a decorative group of objects. When switched off, it resembles a sculpture; when turned on, it emits a smooth, indirect light. The metal mesh on the mirror reflects the light, while the satin metal finish of the lamp’s body makes it both minimal and elegant, yet modern. The colors can be customized, allowing the lamp to appear glamorous or more minimalist.
It comes in 3 different sizes, as a table lamp, a smaller and a bigger floor lamp; [196 x 200 x 440]; [255 x 380 x 844]; [301 x 448 x 1180]
